End of the year has got me feeling senti-MENTAL. . . Hats off to these masters of light! ! ! Keeping me smiling, inspired, crying, and hopeful through these apocalyptic times.
1. Michael Haneke
THEE MODERN MASTERPIECE MACHINE. 2 Palms, 98/100 percent masterpiece consistency, hands down the epitomy of "moving" pictures.
2. Werner Herzog
THEE PIONEER. Watching "My Best Fiend" renewed my absolute total respect and admiration for this living legend. 2 words: Klaus Kinski. 2 films: Aguirre & Woyzeck. Laurel Canyon's most interesting resident.
3. Quentin Tarantino
THEE ORIGINAL. Ironic that the master of references be called original, but he does it MUCH better than anyone else. Period. Through this process QT has developed a truly unique and original style. After viewing Django today, I would vote him world's best director of actor's. An American master.
4. Gaspar Noe
THEE EXPERIMENTER. With a solid 100 percent perfect track record of progressive cinematic master-works under his belt, GN is the director I look to as a model and direct influence. Best visuals ever layed down on celluloid... ever.
5. Park Chan Wook - Carlos Reygadas
TIE. Can't leave these two out. I am constantly blown away after watching these two auteurs work. When it comes to narrative, visuals, and style, these two are at the very top, the crest of the cutting edge. The new...

LASER tag
Nothing beats creating, laughing like a kid, hanging in the company of good people, and breaking the law. Last night I set out as the sun hid, gear in hand, and ended up downtown. Inspiration smiled as I shined a light on the lonely buildings, and gave the sky something new to look at.

DELUSION
A delusion is a belief held with strong conviction despite superior evidence to the contrary.[1] Unlike hallucinations, delusions are always pathological (the result of an illness or illness process).[1] As a pathology, it is distinct from a belief based on false or incomplete information, confabulation, dogma, illusion, or other effects of perception.
Delusions typically occur in the context of neurological or mental illness, although they are not tied to any particular disease and have been found to occur in the context of many pathological states (both physical and mental). However, they are of particular diagnostic importance in psychotic disorders including schizophrenia, paraphrenia, manic episodes of bipolar disorder, and psychotic depression.

Another "election" day 11-4-12
What a joke. The picture above, a mormon standing silent as an ominous pre-recorded voice instructs followers how to follow the ways of Joseph Smith etc. is more interesting than this so called election coverage. If I had plato or plomo for every post about getting out and voting, I would use them. Because it wasn't so log ago that a charismatic man mesmerized the country with "HOPE". I knew it then, and I know it now, there is no hope. Once we deal with that, really face it as the collective virus that we are, then maybe we can start living.
Let go, Don't try.
Have you seen the scientific journal reports lately...? Take a look, it's not pretty. It's fucking ugly. And no one cares less than those in charge. Think about it.... really really ponder where this culture is headed. Take a good long look around you. what do you see? I see a concrete jungle filled with insects with insatiable greed. If you are lucky enough to see trees, and water, and birds from your view... first, what are you doing reading this, destroy your gadget! Second, cherish that which is left untouched by this deadly human hand, the dark hand that poisons everything in its path. Read alternative history, not written by the winner's perspective. Never come back to wherever you left. Never look back.
And if I'm preaching to the choir, God bless you..... Mitt 2016

“El Jibaro”
Puerto Rico - Oso Blanco frame capture - Expression of a man's pain, 4 yrs naked, cold, and in a pitch black dungeon. 4 YEARS Straight, not for one second was he let out of hell. No one, no thing, nada.... how did he make it? What did he think sitting there... time is gone, reality is gone, you are almost gone....but, something, someone, some strength, from within or without, it doesn't matter. No doubt that is a man I respect, his essence tested to the limit. And one day the door opened... blinding him.... but he could see......

Spew
Hatred spews forth
Burning my memory
Of how many years
I've spent unwinding
The web of deceit
You spun around me
As a child
Are you still at Woodstock
Sitting and waiting
For Jesus to come
Are you afraid
Of your own hate
My spray
Will melt you away
My flesh
will pound the love
Out of you
This heart of mine
I'm gonna let it die.

Black Doors
Black doors
To heaven
You will find
What you want
For a price
Women and weed
All legit
In this beautiful
State
If you can find
The black door.
“I showed you my black door,
Now show me yours.”
PUPPET WOMAN
Laughing. Laughing.
Pointing at you
Laughing so hard she
Starts spitting up
Red stuff
Then puking with
Laughter.
Facing straight up.
For some,
Life is not
The easy puzzle
To heaven
You will find
What you want
For a price

Memorials
I got my sister
An accordion
To compete with
My mother.
Cancellation of the heart
Sickening of your soul
Honest assumptions of nothing
Once your illness turns fatal.
No more time is left
On your card
The clock is shattered.
Great glimpses of feelings forgotten
A long while ago.
Inside a grey café in a box.
An accordion
To compete with
My mother.
Cancellation of the heart
Sickening of your soul
Honest assumptions of nothing
Once your illness turns fatal.
No more time is left
On your card
The clock is shattered.

Tell it to my Heart Show
A really great show went down tonight put on by the team led by the "young impresario" Chris Isaacson. Taylor Dane filled the place, displayed her talent with artistic confidence-her voice is still amazing- and got people up out of their seats. Your humble visualist thought there were some magic moments, which can be expected from well prepared improvisational set ups with focused direction. Cheers!

A/V with Samur Khouja
Last night was special, a cutting edge spontaneous expression that was Samur and I's audio visual performance. We laid down a short, sweet, mind bewildering set that had many people flashing back. It was like a nightmare before Christmas in wonderland. Samur, with his pocket synthesizer, knobs, samplers, and various analog sound machines blew minds and ears with his beauty shattering audio improvisation. I did what I normally do, but at a more cohesive and concise level, melting into the sound and vice verse. It was another one of a kind night at Sancho Salon. Thanks Dani, thanks family, thanks my love, and thanks everyone who came out to Echo Park to act a fool last night. Here is the Woodstock inspired video recording.

untitled political
Life of tragedy
Wreckage of tears
Sound of crying
And hugs with fear.
Smell of twisted metal and burnt wood
Disappearance of love
Covered in blood.
A trail of broken relatives
Left behind
To hose down the flames of loss,
To search for clues
To a catch twenty two.
Memories forever as new leaves fall
Frozen tears leaving rivers on an old face,
You did the only thing possible
Act-stop- and
Die
For a cause
Red-White-Blue
Good bye
Blue sky.

THE RING
Glory filled moment
For the unexpected
To stand up
In front of the cameras
To win
To kiss your girl
With swollen lips
It’s the place
To kiss the cloth
With your nose
A concert
Or a morgue
With your family on your shorts
With God
With your pimples and your nose bursting
Red beads like a race horse
Bathing in each others sweat
And blood
Crowd chanting your name
With a broken nose
Mincemeat
As they boo you
The sluts go round and round
As they boo you
Your face is falling off
As they boo you
The kid’s white shirt is spattered with blood
They want him to kill him
The best fight lasts four seconds
The best fights are pink
The best fights are empty
For the unexpected
To stand up
In front of the cameras
To win
To kiss your girl
With swollen lips
It’s the place
To kiss the cloth
With your nose
A concert
Or a morgue
With your family on your shorts

Prescription Lullaby
Last Thursday I wrapped shooting for my latest music video for the group Conscious Summmary's "Prescription Lullaby". Without giving too much away, the music and images reflect consciousness and memory, both abstract and melodic, innovative and classic. Like life, it is a contradiction that makes perfect sense.
Look for it in spring.

PotionLords
My oldest, dearest friend James Sinclair has been blogging for the last few years about everything from cults to psychotropic drugs, from Michael Jackson to Genesis P-Orridge. The topics, opinions, and information are so totally unique, important, and interesting, I had to and want to pass it on to anyone who doesn't already know. READ THIS BLOG. You will learn something new. I did:

Hector
My friend Hector has made two videos which I think are really funny and creative. I've known him for almost five years and all I can say is he's the hardest working man I've ever worked with, and one of the nicest people I know. He has helped me on most of my projects and never once complained. Its great to now see his work. It can be found here: http://vimeo.com/35492884

Private Realm
Last Sunday, the MFD warehouse hosted a dublab broadcast which had a very wide and interesting range of music. I was invited to perform with my fellow artists James Sinclair and Olivia Arthur's project PRIVATE REALM. It was our first time performing live, and what an experience. We had a short and dense A/V set, with James and Olivia on sounds and myself on visual improvisation. It was a collective improvisational experiment. Unclassifiable in its scope, and a one time magical moment for those there to witness it.
After the set, I continued to mix visuals to the other Dj's and bands. It was a magical expeirence to both perform with people I have never heard or met, and to have it be such a success. There were some great moments. Thank you to all the family and friends that were there and made it happen. Au revoir.

new poem
Dowtown train
For all of you
Fighters who like to fight
Like to smoke
Like to drink.
For everyone who loves
Something.
How many times
Can you jack off
Can you fuck
Fight, smoke, drink?
Until it hits you?
For all of you
Fighters who like to fight
Like to smoke
Like to drink.
For everyone who loves
Something.
How many times
Can you jack off
Can you fuck
Fight, smoke, drink?
Until it hits you?
